Hello people.

Another old timer here that couldn't resist one last hurrah when the (almost) original line up, rolled back into Leeds for the re-union.

No doubt like many others on here, I got into the band via the Sisters who I discovered at the York festival in 1984 & then I followed Wayne & Craig into the Mission. I had a ticket for the Feb 86 Mission/Sisterhood gig at Leeds uni which was cancelled by Eldritch & I eventually saw the band for the first time on 'Expedition one'. As a 16 year old. I always felt like I was the youngest punter at those 1986/87 gigs & still felt like the youngest as a 41 year old, last night.

Sadly, I was a bit too young to follow the band 'Eskimo style' back in the 80's & so had to settle for the Leeds & Bradford shows of that era & finally saw them for a last time at Wembley arena in December 1988. Saw them 8 times in all from 1986-88.

I loved the 1st Chapter & GOM stuff & thought that Children had its moments but kind of fell out of love with the band by the end of 88. The band did a radio 1 session in late 88 & the new songs (Hungry/Deliverence/Belief if I remember rightly?) just weren't my cup of tea. I stood watching them at Wembley & just knew that it would be the last time that I saw them.

I'd always been more of an indie kid (who just happened to like a few goth style bands) and as 88 turned into 89 I found myself drawn into the whole Madchester thing and was now the age where I could follow the Stone Roses etc around the country.

Anyway I've always kept listening to the first three albums & bootlegs from that era & it was fantastic to finally see them doing those tunes again last night......phew.....thinks that's enough for an intro!
