How about a really noisy, atmospheric version of The Doors' Riders On The Storm? Not mellow but something that feels like it's gonna explode any moment.

Adam Ant's Wonderful.
Here Come A Raincloud by China Crisis (on their Working With Fire And Steel album).
Kate Bush Army Dreamers.
Elvis Costello I Want You (from Blood And Chocolate).

Just for starters.

Ah! Andrew Collins. Wonder if he is going to be as nervous interviewing you as was when Andrew Eldritch dropped in.

I would like to hear you singing Ordinary World from Duran Duran. Please forgive me but I think it's a very good song.

Otherwise, did you get a call from Andrew Eldritch after your offer to write new songs with him ? He is touring in Brazil in june with his muppets.

If we're talking about a Wayne solo single / album / acoustic tour, just thinking about your way of singing and how you rearranged the songs on the "bare" album, I'm curious to hear how would you perform one of these:

- Talk Talk's "Renée" or "Tomorrow Started" (from "It's my life")

- Peter Gabriel's "Red Rain" (from "So")

- The Chameleon's "Second Skin" (from "Script of the Bridge")

- Mansun's "Legacy" (from "Six")

I always tought that the best challenge for a musician is to take songs nobody would expect you to perform.. and make them definitely yours !!!

Cheers
Emanuele

PS:
Wayne, but did you like the dvd I made and gave you with my friend in Rimini 2005? (aha!.. did you remember or still have it? ...mmmh I don't think so... )

Don't say no without hearing the question
you'll never know what you may miss
we both know what follows a kiss
I don’t look back I don’t reminice
‘cos there is nothing that I miss
there is no dawn without a night
there is no shadow without light
What you desire is up to you
but I can make all your dreams come true
there’s refuge here for a refugee
‘cos in my arms there’s sanctuary
surrender to the pulse of your blood
there’s refuge here for a refugee
‘cos in my arms you’ll find sanctuary

Sigh....

I seem to not do the-- listen to songs and think W.W.W.D. /Shrug/ I'm on a folk music kick anyway right now. I'm sure I'll think of something after I get back from this coming weekend and all it's insanity.

Take care and Get Well, Wayne!
