| I agree, the only ones who should be moaning are manchester ticket holders as the date has changed and like myself booked a hotel for it, but what the hey s##t happens, I'm glad the venues have been changed, much rather see them in a smaller venue than them crap arena's, The mish and k-joke in a venue that usually you'd be going to see just one of them play, never mind the cult astbury is just so far up his own arse, shame really cause billy duffy is a craking guitar player, yes we all know that ticket agencies are a bunch of legal gangsters but we have to use them, lets just be happy the mish are playing five uk dates with the mighty k-joke |

Firstly, the "Birmingham NEC" isn't in Birmingham, it's in Solihull. So anyone who's booked hotels etc has a hell of a journey to the venue from their booked accommodation. Secondly, have you been to Birmingham City Centre? You'd be bitching like hell too if you had... lol.
But seriously, some people don't like getting mucked around, whatever the reason. Although I'd like to go to the O2 Birmingham gig, it's looking increasingly likely that I won't be able to, as the tickets don't exist. And having had the misfortune to have bought via Ticket Factory (the NEC's own outlet), I'm guessing they're not going to organise for new tickets to go out for a rival venue.

As Laika put it, I will now have to leave Brum early to catch the last train to the nec, which is also 1/2 hr further from my house than central brum. And the nec hotels are more expensive. I like the 02 so am happy to go there, just peeved about the hotel booking tbh. As regards the Cult, I like em, but they are not the band they once were. Duffy, is the dogs, but astbury, take him or leave him....

It does seem that way doesn't it ? Must admit that I must be in the minority here as they remain one of my faves. Yes Astbury can run on a load of old shite from time to time but just like the Mish they may have had a couple of dodgy albums in their back catalogue but overall they are sound. New album is very good btw!

Haven't been on here for sometime but I remain am confused as my last visit when the new shows were announced. Then it was moans and groans that they were playing a too bigger venue when really we should be grateful for the opportunity to see such a stellar line up of three great bands. Now they have down-sized (and lets face it, this was always a strong possibility) people are still not happy. I can understand that there could be expense with cancelled rooms etc but most gigs are still on the same day and area. Lets not blame George for this and continue to remain positive!!
By the way, I booked Brum tickets via Seetickets and they have confirmed they will be transfered so hopefully others here will find the same (their email below)
We have been informed that the concert featuring The Cult + The Mission + Killing Joke at LG Arena NEC Birmingham on Saturday 15th September 2012 has now changed venue. The concert will now take place at O2 Academy Birmingham, 16-18 Horsefair, Bristol Street, Birmingham B1 1DB.
The date remains unchanged.
Your Reserved Seat booking has been transferred - there are no reserved seats at O2 Academy Birmingham but you will be receiving Balcony Unreserved Seat/ Standing tickets for this show. To make sure you get access to an unreserved seat in the Balcony you are advised to be queuing in good time before doors open. Tickets for the new location will be dispatched to you in due course.

Come on guys FFS - people we know either personally or on here have travelled the world to see the band. Wkdgrl has been to South America recently - aurabesh to Prague - Brad and Robin travel across the Atlantic to see em. I met chinaski in Leeds and Amsterdam - he'd come over from Argentina. And yet we (some of us) are bitching about travelling an extra few miles to a different venue in the same city on the same night (Manchester excepted)?!?!? Get a grip folks!

Well said.
I've booked hotels near all the original 4 venues (except Manchester) using the no-cancellation option to keep the price down but I just accept that these things happen. I'll stay in the original hotels and travel in.
That's the way it goes sometimes when you want to follow bands on tour. |

Im not bitching about it, but I suffer panic attacks and need to plan to the last detail anything like this, and that includes the ease of parking and length of travel - moving the gig from the NEC where I know how to get to, ease of parking etc to a city centre on street parking puts the trip in realms of unfeasible for me
So do realise some of us have good reason to be upset at the promoters rearranging with little or no information - I have spent the last few months looking forward to this, and now Im not going - had I known in advance the location I either wouldnt have bought tickets, or (more unlikely) have looked at using some of my precious holidays and travel elsewhere |

that show at the nairn highland games is looking more tempting by the minute. i'm sure i could still get you a slot at the shambles, next to the pool table. you'd have to do without the keyboards mind.
i want to go to there |

Lynn, ticket is yours if and when it ever turns up. As for being called fickle, o2 birmingham does not cater for the disabled. Been there done that, a horrendous venue. I didnt state that as a reason earlier but seeing people losing money on hotels ect then balls to the promoter. Hopefully The Mish will do their own dates. |

I'm glad you replied Paul. I wanted to say something, but felt it wasn't my place to say what your reasons were.
Calling someone fickle without knowing the reasons why is more than a little crass and rude...

I was replying to the 'Cant be arsed with it now' comment when i asked if it was a bit fickle.
If i'd known it was for the reasons Crow subsequently explained then obviously I would never have asked the question.
If i've caused any offence then i'm sorry. |
