Let's book a tour in venues we can't possibly hope to fill, get everyone saying so and being a bit grumpy about it, then, when they've bought their tickets anyway, we'll cancel and change it to smaller venues. And - here's the best bit - we'll announce it on the Jubilee bank holiday weekend so they can't get any information and it'll erupt into chaos, bitterness and resentment! That'll be loads of fun, they'll all hate us, they won't come to the rescheduled concerts and we'll lose half our fanba- oh, hang on..."
Sure, be annoyed at the incompetence, the inconvenience, the poor customer service and all the rest of it but don't start dreaming up dumb conspiracy theories to get people even more riled up.
I was merely pointing out and subjectively hoping, that some one didn't choose to make this announcement, whoever it was, at such a time, when it was clear that all lines of communication would be down. It points more to bad coincidental timing and I'd like to think some one didn't just say "fuck 'em, we can deal with this after I come back from Monte Carlo" - we are dealing with concert promoters, one of the soulless and arrogant forms of life on the planet, after all.
Sometimes it feels that the concerns and 'well being', as it were, of the concert going fan these days is very cavalier and the 're-book it' they'll go anyway, is easier to execute than actually carry out. As people are finding, sadly. If the promoters had simply, put back the dates to another month, that would of been a lot easier to stomach. But now by rescheduling one of the shows entirely, and switching venues along with sending out mixed signals over ticketing/ allocation / pricing. They ( the promoters) have created this quagmire we are left with now. There's no quick fix scenario to this, it's going take much talking, compromise and lowering of egos to make it happen. |

Ticket price on o2 priority is £35 thats a fiver a ticket cheaper than ticketmaster and other online sellers. If you not on o2 its worth finding someone who is ive saved £20 on 4 tickets |

I fired off an enquiry to See Tickets on the off chance the bank holiday staff might be looking for something to do regarding my Sheffield ticket and their response was:
The order you have will be valid for the new venue, and we will send an e-mail shortly to confirm the alterations once we receive confirmation officially from the promoters.
Sounds good for not having to mess around cancelling the original and get new tickets, with See Tickets for dates that haven't changed at least. |

In years to come they could use this as ( what ever will be the equivalent) of A' Level Maths question :
A Man buys a ticket for a concert, at a venue that holds 13,000 people. The concert is then moved to a smaller venue with a capacity of 3,500. The seller of his ticket informs him his ticket is valid for the new venue.
His friend also purchases a ticket for the very same concert, but his seller says that the ticket is no-transferable and he will have to obtain a refund and then purchase a new ticket for the alternative venue.
In the meantime, the new venue advertises that the new concert date is sold out...
Q: What time will his train arrive in Edinburgh and should he buy Quavers before or during the journey.

The O2 Academy website desn't say "sold out" it says tickets are not available.... I would expect them to go on sale in the next few days. If they had sold that many tickets already I don't think they would have cancelled the arena's.

In fact,if the story about the old tickets not being valid is true, then it caan't possibly be sold out, because no tickets for the new venues are on sale yet.

I spoke to a lady at the Sheffield arena box office this morning. She advised me that all tickets are currently on hold, and they are still awaiting information from the promoter. The arena advised her to ask customers to be patient and phone again next week. I did enquire that if the venue has been changed to the Academy, would these tickets be transferable, and she assured me that they would be. Fingers crossed.

| On the Brum Academy website it says the LG Arena tickets are not valid any more and have to be exchanged at point of purchase. Bought 2 tickets from Dublin which haven't been sent yet. I contacted Ticketmaster to ask if the correct tickets will be sent on Sunday. Got a standard mail back they've been having loads of emails and would get back within 72 hours. No answer as of yet. Booked hotel but not flights yet. Bah! |
