All others can disregard. (I misposted this earlier)
;-)
I got back in touch with Mish folks in 2006, right after my marriage blew up.
I had been out of thouch with people since 1999-2000... Marriage, buying a house, being a bit cash poor as I supported my husband as he learned new skills and certifications... I had backed away from the more peripatetic aspects of my life to date at that time.
So, footlose, though quite lucratively employed, I made the 2008 shows in London, moving back into my wandering. This was cut short in 2010 when I was laid off (so I moved to NYC to be with my beau), which is why I did not make last Oct's 25 reunion, but employment is on again for me as of this past February, so all's good.
Last friday... My ex husband died. Quite spectacularly. I've been pretty messed up about it, I divorced him not because I did not love him, but because I could not myself survive intact in the situation he wished to put me in, The circumstances and the direction and what he was doing. I could not stay involved with him on a personal or emotional level, or accept his actions.
He died in a freak accident, two 1500 pounds of newsprint fell on him in a railyard outside of Philadelphia. It made the news.

I do not wish 'condolences'. My emotional state is to complicated, and I don't think they are warranted to me. Virtual hugs are appreciated. They are to his parents and his siblings... I've talked with them this week, and will continue to do so.
I am very happy in my current relationship (of almost 3 years) with my pet author. He's been a great help this week.
As far as black humor goes... I've thought up enough of those jokes myself already, I doubt you could top what has gone through my head.
He was not an evil man. He was mostly decent. He was good to me for 7 years. And supremely shitty to me for one, until I ended it. His self centeredness got the better of him, and his passive aggressiveness wouldn't let him be the one to end things. He was usually good to his friends, and almost always there to listen and lend a sympathetic ear to anyone.
He will be missed. Ghods know, I missed him at times, these past 6 years (and no, various calibers had nothing to do with it. In that way, I always hit what I aim at).
...find shelter in my arms, and sleep the sleep of angels, if only you believe I'm all tangled up in you... |

Don't know you personally Wrenn although our paths must have crossed many times over the years.
Hope that whatever you need at the moment is forthcoming.
Keep The Faith (in whatever you believe in).
