I just don't get the don't convert my FLAC files into mp3 thing. Why is that?
I can understand that people that put a lot of work into their recordings would expect the same from likeminded people with the same interest. If yoy offer a good recording you can expect one in return. That's only fair.
It's generally not about converting to mp3, but not circulating in m3 format.
What's so hard about uploading them to megaupload or another site in FLAC format if you do want to share them with those who can't access dime? Or share them on a blog in FLAC format, as the good people at Dark Circle Room are currently doing?
If someone has taken the time and effort to digitise and upload these recordings, it's respectful to follow their wishes, otherwise they may just not bother again in the future.
