Message from Wayne re: Cult tour
It seems that there have been a few adverse comments made by some of you on the MWIS forum and elsewhere and asking for a reaction, an apology even, from the band regarding the Cult-Mission-Killing Joke tour and the downsizing of venues from the originally scheduled arenas. I dunno if it’s escaped your notice but we have been a little busy ourselves these last few weeks and have barely had time to fart let alone shit and thinking about September has been far from our minds. Anyway, now we’re all at home with a little time to ourselves and moi, being the biggest of mouth in the band, has been delegated the task of taming the natives, soothing the naysayers.
We were, as were Killing Joke, asked to play this tour as special guests of The Cult, lest we forget. Being old time friends of both bands we said yes. We also liked the idea of playing arenas and reaching an audience that wouldn’t necessarily come to a Mission show. I know there were a few of you that were a little peeved at the idea of us playing arenas. I can sympathise. I’m not a fan myself of either playing or going to arena shows but we looked upon this as an opportunity to extend our audience. And to also be part of a bloody good night out! Come on, what’s not to like? 3 great bands for the price of 1!
The idea was always ambitious on the part of the promoter but if no one took chances and reached for the stars then where would we be? We’d be rooted to terra firma and life would be tedious, as it sometimes is.
Anyway, I digress. We were informed of the change of venues ourselves, just as you were, by rumours surfacing on the internet. Eventually the change was officially confirmed. Of course we are all disappointed and a little angry as, just like many of you, we’d already had flights, rehearsals, hotels, other shows booked around the original dates, that we had the inconvenience, and cost, of changing. Of course we’re not happy about it and certainly not happy that it has hit some of you in the place it hurts the most, the pocket. We do apologise hugely for any inconvenience caused by the changing of these dates but the apology comes with the disclaimer that these are circumstances beyond our control.
Anyway, now we all got the moaning and whinging, and apologies, out of the way can we now start to look forward to what promises to be a very special tour.
Cheers,
Wayne
P.S. Also, another rumour I’ve heard doing the rounds is that my fave band, Blood Brothers, are playing a show in Nottingham on Friday 14th September. We’ll be there in attendance yet again and we’ll let you know more details when we get ‘em.

Cheers for the message. Looking forward to Hammersmith.
See you there.
